How do I change my domain address? (by changing A Record)

Last Updated: Oct 22, 2018 02:46PM BRST
If you are not going to host your emails with eDirectory and wish to continue hosting your emails with a different provider (for example GoDaddy, Google, Zoho, etc.) changing the DNS settings will break your emails. For this reason, if you are not going to host your emails with eDirectory please change your A Record to our IP address below:

This process takes a couple of hours to fully propagate and your domain may be down temporarily during the propagation period but will not affect your email services.

Attention: This change is not automatic. When you make the changes on your end, please send an email to support and tell us which domain you will use. We will make the remaining changes from our end and let you know as soon as the site is live.

1. Log in to your Godaddy Account Manager
2. Under  Domains, click Launch.
3. Do one of the following:
From the Tools menu, select DNS Manager, and then click Edit Zone for the domain name you want to update.
Click the domain name you want to update, and, in the DNS Manager section, click Launch.

5. From the Record type list, select A (Host). Then type @ (this will point both and to your eDirectory hosted site)
6. Points to IP Address — Enter your eDirectory site IP address (this will be provided to you upon setup/installation)
7. TTL — Select how long the server should cache the information. You can select  1 hour or leave it to default.
