Listing Claim - Current Listing level is not selected
eDirectory site users can (buy) claim an existing Listing, for this it is necessary for the user to find the listing they wish to claim and hit the ‘Is this this listing’ (This shows by default for all listings with no account attached in the Sitemgr area)
Image 4 – Listing Claim
After choosing the Listing the user is redirected to a login page. This login page offers the choice of login (New User (eDirectory Account), Facebook Account, Google Account or OpenID Account).
Image 5 – Account Signup
Once logged in, the user must verify the information in the Listing, and if desired, change the level of the Listing and . or the listing type.
Image 6 – Listing Update
On the next step, the Listing form will be shown so users can fill in with the desired information.
Image 7 – Listing Form
To complete the purchase of claiming a listing, the user must choose which payment method they wish to use.
Image 8 – Check Out
All listings that have the option to be claimed have no account attached to them. Any user claiming a listing and paying will automatically be the new owner of that listing with full privileges over it.
Create new interface to languages on Sitemgr
Language Center >> Languages
In this new version of eDirectory Language files can be edited to facilitate system customization, as well as adjusting to suit the needs of both the users and Sitemgr. For this, the Sitemgr should access the Language Center from the side menu.
Image 9 – Language Center
Language Tab - The Sitemgr can choose from seven existing languages which will be activated on either the front, the Sitemgr or indeed both.
Image 10 - Language
Edit Languages - To change a language the Sitemgr must choose which area will be changed (Web Site or administration), language and download the file.
Image 11 – Edit Language
Once downloaded, the file must be edited as desired. Below an example of the default file and the edited file.
Image 12 - Example of how to change a translation
After you have finished editing the file, you should upload the file back to the Language Center and hit the submit button.
With version 9.7 eDirectory supports one language per domain (you can use new domains or subdomains for alternative languages). But you can always add a new language by going to the ‘Add Language’ tab.
Image 13 – Add Language
You should download the original language files in step 1 before adding a new language as these files will need to be edited prior to upload with your new language data – once they are edited, you will need to fill in the form, add a flag (63x43) image for easy identification and upload both files – one for the front-end, one for the Sitemgr area.
Editing an Existing Language
If you have uploaded a new language and made an error – incorrect name, incorrect flag, simply click on the ‘Name & Flag’ option to edit these details.

Site Content >> Navigation
Image 15 – Navigation
9.7 sees the release of the new navigation configuration tool.
Select the area you wish to edit (Header / Footer)
Use the Order column to drag and drop the item into your preferred order.
Use the ‘Navigation Text’ column to enter the text you want displayed on the navigation bar.
‘Link To’ can be set to any active module (Articles, Blog, Listings etc) or you can select the ‘Custom Link’ which will allow you to type in the ‘Custom Link’ column.
Adding a custom link is easy, just use a fully qualified URL, make sure it starts http:// and then the rest of the URL, this can link to anywhere.
Lastly, if you wish to remove a row, hit the remove icon.
When you’re finished, hit the submit button and then ‘View Site’ to see the changes live (This opens in a new window, so you can edit again if you made a mistake).
If you make a serious error, or just want the navigation restored to the default settings (the state upon first install of eDirectory), you can click the reset navigation link – this will remove any work you have done and restore the navigation to it’s default state.
