What is the Market Selection Plugin?

The Market Selection plugin empowers you to personalize your browsing experience by filtering site pages to display only listings within your chosen location. Upon landing on the site, you can easily set your preferred area, and from that point forward, you'll only see listings relevant to that specific location. Say goodbye to unnecessary clutter and hello to a streamlined search!

How to Configure the Market Selection Plugin:

Setting up the Market Selection plugin is quick and easy. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Define Your Location Level: First, navigate to Settings and click on the "Languages & Locations" section. Here, you can specify which level of location detail (e.g., Country, State, City) will be used for location-based filtering. Select your desired option and click "Save Changes".

  1. Enable Available Locations: Next, you need to activate each specific location you want users to be able to select.

    • If you selected "Country" in Step 1: Go to Settings, click on "Languages & Locations", and then click the "Location data" tab. Click "Edit Country" for each country listed on your site and ensure you check the "Show Market Location" option. Save your changes for each country.

    • If you selected "State" in Step 1: Follow the same process as above, but click "Edit State" for each state and check the "Show Market Location" box.
    • If you selected "City" in Step 1: Similarly, click "Edit City" for each city and check the "Show Market Location" box.

Note: It is important to point out that if you selected the state on step 1, then when configuring the locations on step 2, you need to click on "Edit State" for each state and check the box for "Show Market Location", and similarly, it is also valid if the location chosen on step 1 is the city, and so on.

  1. Filter Listings with Ease: Once the locations are configured, users will see a clear option on the left side of the site (as shown below) to select and filter all relevant items based on their chosen location.

When a user clicks this icon, they will see the available locations you enabled in Step 2. After selecting a location, all sections of the site will be automatically filtered to display only listings within that chosen area. Users can easily remove the filter at any time using the same selection tool.
