How to Add a Blog Post

Introduction

A blog is a powerful tool for engaging your audience, sharing updates, and boosting your directory’s SEO. In eDirectory, the Blog Module allows the Site Manager (Sitemgr) to create and manage blog content. While only the Sitemgr can add blog categories and publish posts, registered users can interact by leaving comments.

If you’re ready to start adding blog content to your directory, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Log into the Site Manager

  • Access your Sitemgr dashboard.

Step 2: Create Blog Categories (if needed)

Before publishing a blog post, you must have at least one blog category to organize your content.

To add a category:

  • Navigate to Sitemgr > Content > Blog > Categories > Create Category

  • Enter the Category Title and click Save Changes
  • (Optional) Click Advanced Options to add more details

Step 3: Add a Blog Post

Once a category is created, you can now add a blog post and assign it to that category.

To create a blog post:

  • Go to Sitemgr > Content > Blog > Add Post

  • Enter the required details:
    • Title (required)
    • Content (required)
    • Image (optional)
    • Category (select from the list)
  • Click Save Changes to publish the post

Step 4: Edit or Update a Blog Post

After publishing, your blog post will be active and visible on the front end of your directory.

To edit an existing post:

  • Navigate to Sitemgr > Content > Blog
  • Click on the post you want to edit
  • Click the pencil icon to make changes

  • Save your updates

Changes will be reflected on your directory after refreshing the page.
