How to Make a Listing a Featured Listing

A Featured Listing is a great way to highlight the highest-tier listings on your site. These listings appear prominently on the directory homepage and listing homepage, ensuring maximum visibility. By setting a listing as "Featured," you enhance its exposure, making it more attractive to potential customers. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to configure and manage Featured Listings in eDirectory.

Steps to Configure Featured Listings

  1. Access the Page Editor
    • Navigate to Design → Page Editor → Home Page.

  1. Locate and Edit the Featured Listings Widget
    • Find the "Featured Listings" widget and click to edit it.

Note: Upon the purchase of eDiretory, when you access the home page, you will find this Featured Listings widget by default. However, this widget's real name is "Vertical cards", and it is displaying Featured listings because the widget title is featured listings.

If you would like to add this widget to display listings on this same page or on other pages of the site, you will be able to find it under the name "Vertical cards"

  1. Configure the Widget Settings
    • Choose which listing level should be featured.
    • Select the number of listings to display.
    • Set the criteria for ordering the listings.
    • Click "Save Changes."

  1. Save the page and Preview Your Changes
    • Ensure all changes are saved.
    • Click "View" to preview how the featured listings appear on the homepage.

Ensuring Listings Appear in Featured Listings

The highest-tier listings, often referred to as "Diamond Level" listings, typically appear in the Featured Listings section. If a listing does not appear as expected, verify the following:

  • Is the listing assigned to a featured listing level?
  • Is the listing active?
  • Is the widget set to display enough listings?

To check these details:

  • Go to Content → Listings.
  • Verify if the listing is Active and belongs to the Featured Listing Level.

  • If fewer listings appear than expected, adjust the number of displayed items in the Featured Listings widget.
