How to Add a Banner
Introduction
Banners are essential tools for advertising products, services, or events in an image format. In eDirectory, they play a crucial role in promoting businesses and grabbing visitors' attention. There are five types of banners available: Leaderboard, Large Mobile Banner, Square Banner, Skyscraper Banner, and Sponsored Links. Each type has specific dimensions that are designed to fit various sections of your directory website. This guide will walk you through the steps to add a banner on eDirectory and make the most of your advertising options.
Steps to Add a Banner
1. Log in to Your Site Manager
To get started, log in to your Site Manager account. Once logged in, navigate to the Content Manager tab on the left side of your screen.
2. Access the Banners Section
From the Content Manager, click on the "Banners" option to begin the process of adding a new banner.
3. Click on "Add Banner"
In the Banners section, click the "Add Banner" button located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
4. Fill Out the Banner Form
After clicking "Add Banner," a form will appear where you can input the necessary banner details.
- Banner Type: Choose from one of the following banner types:
- Leaderboard: Dimensions: 728px x 90px. Horizontal format.
- Large Mobile Banner: Dimensions: 320px x 100px. Rectangular format. Displayed in a row of three banners on both the mobile site and the app.
- Square Banner: Dimensions: 250px x 205px. Square format, displayed in a column of two rows on listing, browse by location, or category widgets.
- Wide Skyscraper: Dimensions: 160px x 600px. Vertical format, displayed on listing, browse by location, or category widgets.
- Sponsored Links: Dimensions: 320px x 100px. Rectangular format, displayed in a row of three banners. No image required.
- Billboard Banner: Dimensions: 970px x 250px. Horizontal format.
- Half Page Banner: Dimensions: 300px x 600px. Vertical format, displayed in a column within listing, browse by location, or category widgets.
Note: Billboard and Half Page banners are only available if your version is 13.6 or above

- Caption: Enter a caption or title for the banner. This field is used for site manager and sponsor management purposes and is not displayed on the banner itself.
Note: it is important to notice that the caption field is used only for the site manager and sponsor management, and it is not displayed on the banner itself.
- Basic Information: Select the account for which the banner is intended and set the Status and Renewal Date.
5. Choose the Display Section
Select where you want your banner to be displayed. The options include:
- General Pages: Displays on all non-module pages, such as the homepage, contact, FAQ, and terms of use pages.
- Listing: Displays on listing-related pages such as the listing homepage, detail page, and category pages.
- Deal: Displays on pages related to deals, including home, categories, and detail pages.
- Event: Displays on event pages, such as event home, categories, and detail pages.
- Classified: Displays on classified-related pages.
- Article: Displays on article-related pages.
- Blog: Displays on blog-related pages.
- Global Banner: Displays across all pages of the website.
Note: In order to display the banner in the pages it was selected to display, make sure that the pages have the corresponding widgets to display the banners. In order to check if the pages have banner widgets to display, navigate to Design → Page Editor:
Check inside the pages that the banner was selected to display, that the widgets are configured in the page.

6. Set the Category (Optional)
You can configure the banner to appear under a specific category if you're displaying it on a Listing, Deal, Event, Classified, Article, or Blog page.
7. Add a Destination URL
Enter the URL where visitors will be redirected when they click on the banner. Optionally, you can also add a Display URL.
8. Set Banner Behavior
Decide if you want the banner to open in a new window when clicked.
9. Include Script Code (Optional)
If you wish to use a script code for your banner, such as for Google Adsense, check the "Show by Script Code" box and input the script in the provided field. If you use this option, there is no need to add an image in the "Image" field.

10. Enter a Promotional Code (Optional)
If you're offering a discount or promotional code, you can enter it in the designated field.

11. Upload the Banner Image
Under the "Image" section, click "Add File" to upload the image for your banner.
Note: If you're using a script code for the banner, do not upload an image.
12. Save Your Changes
Once you have filled out all the necessary details, click "Save Changes" in the upper or bottom right corner of the screen to finalize your banner.
