Adding an event to your eDirectory website is a great way to promote upcoming activities, attract attendees, and enhance user engagement. With customizable event levels, you can tailor event listings to match your needs. The process of adding an event is straightforward, and this guide will walk you through each step to ensure your event is properly set up and displayed on your website.


Steps to Add an Event

1. Navigate to the Event Section

Log in to your Site Manager and go to Content -> Events.

2. Click "Add Event"

At the top right corner of the page, click the "Add Event" button to start creating your event.

3. Enter Event Title and Select Level

Provide a title for your event and choose the appropriate event level. The level determines the features available for the listing.

4. Select Event Categories

Under Basic Information, click "Browse" to choose relevant categories for your event. If you haven't created categories yet, you can add them directly by selecting "Create Category" or navigating to Content -> Events -> Categories -> Add Category.

5. Define Account, Status, and Renewal Date

Assign the event to an account, select its status, and set a renewal date. If your event plan includes a summary and description, fill in these fields to provide additional details.

6. Add Keywords and Social Media Links

In the Keywords for Search field, enter relevant keywords to improve searchability. You can also include links to a Facebook Page and Twitter Feed to enhance visibility.

7. Provide Contact Information

Fill in the required contact details, including phone number, location name, address, ZIP code, and, if enabled, contact name, website URL, and email address.

8. Set Event Date and Time

Specify the Start Date and End Date of the event. If the event is recurring, check the appropriate option. Depending on the event level, you may also be able to set the Start Time and End Time.

9. Optimize SEO Settings

To improve visibility on search engines like Google, carefully complete the SEO fields.

10. Enter a Promotional Code (Optional)

If applicable, add a promotional code to offer discounts or special access.

11. Upload Media (If Enabled)

If your event level allows it, you can add a Photo Gallery, Cover Image, or Video to make your listing more engaging. These options are available in the upper right corner of the screen.

12. Save and Publish

Click "Save Changes" in the upper or lower right corner to finalize your event.

Viewing Your Event

To view your event on the website, return to the Event tab under Content. Click on your event to see a preview on the right side of the screen. Click the "View on Website" button to visit the live event page.
