Introduction

Promotional codes have undergone a significant update in eDirectory version 13.6, simplifying the way site managers create and manage discounts. These codes are now centralized in the Products & Plans section, providing a unified and efficient workflow. This change eliminates the need to manage promotional codes across multiple areas, making it easier than ever to create, configure, and apply them effectively.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to access and create promotional codes in the new system. Whether you're looking to attract new members or reward loyal ones, these customizable discounts are a powerful tool to achieve your promotional goals.

What Are Promotional Codes?

Promotional codes are site-manager-generated codes that provide discounts to users. These can be offered to:

  • Attract new members with enticing initial purchase discounts.
  • Reward existing members by reducing renewal costs.
Note: Starting with version 13.6, promotional codes are only applied to plan subscriptions. They can no longer be tied to individual products, aligning with the streamlined functionality introduced in this update. Additionally, the package options have been discontinued in this latest version, since it is possible to create subscription plans by default now. 1. Log in to your site manager dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings > Products & Plans > Manage Promotional Codes.

Step 2: Add a New Promotional Code

Step 3: Fill Out the Required Fields

  • Code: Enter a name for your promotional code (e.g., “WELCOME20” or “LOYALTY15”).
  • Type: Choose the discount type—either a Fixed Value (e.g., $10 off) or a Percentage (e.g., 20% off).
  • Amount: Enter the value of the discount (either the fixed amount or percentage).

  • Apply for Specific Plans: Activate this option to restrict the code's use to selected plans only.

Step 4: Save Changes
Once all fields are configured, click Save to activate the promotional code.

Applying Promotional Codes

Once generated, promotional codes can be seamlessly applied during the checkout process. Users simply enter the code at checkout, instantly redeeming the associated discount. This not only enhances the purchasing experience but also incentivizes conversions, making it a valuable feature for your marketing efforts.

Conclusion
